Practical Help,
No Judgment.

What We Do

"No judgment, just help — peer-based harm reduction across Aotearoa."

Aotearoa Drug Information Outreach (ADIO) is a harm reduction and needle exchange service that’s been supporting communities since 1988.

We provide anonymous and confidential services for people who inject drugs, led by a team of peers with lived or living experience. Our focus is on respect, reducing harm, and practical support — without stigma or judgment.

How We Help

  • Distribute clean injecting equipment, and safely dispose of your returns
  • Offer harm reduction advice
  • Provide Naloxone for overdose prevention
  • Deliver free Hep C, HIV, and syphilis testing, referrals and treatment
  • Support and refer people to other services such as counselling, healthcare, and addiction services

Once you show up and use the service, talk to the staff, you’ll realise there’s nothing scary. Nobody’s watching the place — you are quite safe.
